The End from the Beginning

I don’t always know the reason

For the roads I’m walking on

Why the desert stretches farther

Why the night feels twice as long

But the Lord knows all things

From beginning to the end

And every step before me

Rests within His hands

He prepares the way before us

Before the journey even starts

There ain’t nothing unforeseen to Him

He knows every weary heart

And all His words will be fulfilled

Every promise He has made

For the Lord has all power

And He prepares the way

Many times we stand there wondering

How the mountain can be crossed

How a man can keep on going

When the trail just feels too lost

But the God who made the heavens

Still watches over men

And the path we cannot yet see

He already knows the end

He prepares the way before us

Before the journey even starts

For the Lord has all power

He knew the ending

And every word He spoke will stand

There’s no power greater

No storm nor danger

Beyond the reach of His strong hand

So when the fire burns low at midnight

And the cold wind fills the sky

I will trust the One who sees beyond

What mortal eyes can find

For behold the Lord has spoken

And His purposes remain

He fulfills all of His words

And He prepares the way

He prepares the way before us
