We’d been walkin’ through the desert

For so many endless days

Living off the tender mercies

And the sunlight through the haze

Then He led us to the shoreline

Where the endless waters dipped

And my brothers laughed like thunder

At the fool who’d build a ship

Dreamers drown in waves that deep

Wood and faith don’t float the sea

But I heard a voice beyond the wind

Calling out to me

So I’ll build it anyway

Right here by the crashing tide

Hammer hope into the timber

With the heavens as my guide

They can call me lost or crazy

But someday they’ll all remember

I went searching through the mountains

For the ore to melt and mold

Every spark inside the fire

Felt like prophecy in gold

And the doubters kept on talking

Every chance their pride could grip

But the Lord was in the details

They can mock the unseen harbor

Not because I knew the answers

But because the God of heaven

Loves the ones who choose to build

Past the breakers and the mist

With a family full of questions

And a future heaven-kissed

Now the wind became our witness

And the deep no longer cryptic
